Well hello there!! Just popping in to share a little DIY we whipped up. Between unpacking STILL…expanding the store…playing chauffeur to kiddos in school, there is not enough hours in the day but I had a few minute to make this fun and fab pillow. It reminds me of the one I have been eyeing up at Anthropologie, so to humor my budget, I made one very similar.
I used this metallic gold Martha Stewart craft paint I picked up at Michael’s along with a polka dot stencil and some sponge pouncers. I had some fabric scraps left over from a previous project so it was great to put some scraps to use!
The pillow insert I was using was 18×18 so I cut a 19″ square for the front. I placed the stencil and used some blue painters tape to hold it in place while I painted. I waited a few minutes in between the next round of dots so I wasn’t smearing paint all over the fabric.
Once there were dots covering the fabric, I sewed up a pillow using a basic envelope closure. That way the covers can easily be removed to be cleaned. Here is how it turned out…isn’t she pretty?
