After FOUR years of being in our retail / studio space it was time for an overhaul…a big one. Over the past four years we have acquired more space little by little and have done our best to repair, patch and hide areas as we took down walls removed flooring etc, but this was our biggest project to date. Walls needed moved, all of the flooring needed to be replaced and we were thrilled when our friends over at The Home Depot agreed to work with us!! See ALL of the how-to’s HERE.
Let’s peek back to the space when we first moved in in February of 2012…EEEK!!!!
Initially our landlord would not let us take up the lovely forest green commercial carpet, so we ended up covering it up with a peel and stick vinyl plank as a temporary fix until we knew we’d be here for a while.
Once we go the green light this last summer to demo the walls and floors…all of the flooring came up including the green commercial carpet. BYE-BYE carpet…YAY!!!!!!
We went with Allure Luxury Vinyl Planks as the big winner…see our DIY over on The Home Depot Blog!
Super easy & awesome to install with the look of REAL WOOD!!!! What a difference a few years makes

This flooring looks amazing! You have inspired me to replace the floors in my own house 🙂 Home Depot sells several different types of “Allure smoked oak” flooring. Did you install “smoked oak silver”?
