I married a southern man so there were a few menu items that I needed to perfect and and baked beans were on the list!
ok…now don’t tell everyone my secret recipe, ummm-k?
Here is what you need
(2) 28 ounce cans of Bush’s Original Baked Beans
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup and a squeeze of yellow mustard
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/2 of a sweet onion diced
1 pkg Hormel Black Label Maple Bacon
Got it? Now preheat your oven to 400 degrees, grab a casarole dish, mix all of the ingredients together but put the bacon aside. Once mixed, put the beans in your dish and layer the top with the bacon. Bake for 40 minutes. Then broil until the bacon browns (about 1-2 minutes) Keep an eye on it cause you’ve come this far and don’t want to burn the beans!! LOL!!! and now you are ready to serve!
Patents guy says
Oh my god, mum did something like this and growing up we called this bacon and beans and it was our favourite ever breakfast.
