So with Easter just around the corner it was time to set up a little playdate photoshoot. We wanted to set up a kid-sized, budget-friendly dessert table perfect to get a “jump” start into spring! The locale? My backyard, the budget? Minimal…so, I picked this location because of the natural, casual setting. I loved how the lemons were starting to come in on the tree so I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for a fun playdate setting. Now, when planning for a small playdate…you don’t need much…we went with cupcakes & candy!!! YUM!!! What more do you need?? This look was achieved with things I already had that I pulled from my holiday fireplace decor, some newly designed printables, fabric scraps (you may recognize the aqua and lime damask fabric from Blake’s Winter Candyland), a fabulous coordinating banner and ribbon garland from Nancy of A to Zebra Celebrations, candy and some cupcakes from a local bakery. Underneath the layered fabrics were tables from my playroom…just the right height for the kiddos to grab a treat!!
I thought mixing the fabric patterns kept thing a little less serious and set the tone for a playful table set-up. Together, we styled this simple, yet oh-so-cute table that that is sure to get things-a-hoppin’
Once things were set up, Nancy dressed her beautiful girlies up in ah-dorable t-shirts by Whimsy Tots Boutique, gorgeous bracelets from 3 Little Birds Boutique, and darling hairbows by Fairy Dust Bows.
Also among the decor was a fun & festive sign from Our Hobby To Your Home. For a cute little favor, small jars were filled with peanut m&m’s, then I embellished the jars with printables attached with coordinating twine from The Twinery.
Here is a pic from my fireplace before snagging stuff for the photoshoot (; Look familiar?? I got all of this stuff from Target!! Oh, how I love that place!! The decorative porcelain jars are from Homegoods.
Here is a close ups on some of the awseome products from some amazing vendors
So, there it is…a fun, easy and budget friendly playdate! Happy Spring!!
